"Starr Chaney’s presentation at the Ghosts of Frontier Texas Conference was delightful – it was both entertaining and informative. Her explanation of dowsing and EVP was relevant to all attendees, no matter what their present level of expertise. She provided demonstrations and real-life examples to enhance the experience, and fielded questions ranging from the very basic to the highly technical. I don’t think that there was a person in attendance who wasn’t blown away by the hour with Starr… what a superb presentation. I look forward to hearing her speak again!" - Mitchel Whitington, author of "A Ghost in My Suitcase"

The first annual Paranormal Weekend was held at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park on Feb 17th, 2006. The events began with Paul Tierney providing a wonderful history of the park, including the Battle of Blue Licks. This battle is known to be the last battle of the Revolutionary War fought in Kentucky. Guest speakers included the Park’s own Paranormal Investigator and hostess for the event, “Denita Ross”. Denita shared some of the photos and experiences in a presentation called “The Spirits of Blue Licks”. Next to speak was Jeff Waldridge, a member of Patti Starr’s Ghost Hunter’s group. Due to a last minute cancellation by Patti Starr, Jeff was kind enough to conduct her presentation regarding the paranormal activity Patti had encountered when she was on various ghost hunts.

The true “Star” of the evening was none other than “Starr Chaney”. Starr brought a great deal of entertainment as well as education to the group by teaching dowsing lessons. Everyone was intrigued by her techniques and you could feel the energy in the room from her dynamic personality. Many comments were made during the weekend about the fun they had when Starr stood up to speak. Denita and Starr made such a great team that the director of Kentucky State Resort Parks asked them to appear at other state parks in the future. We are currently in contact with the curator of the Butler-Turpin house at General Butler State Resort park to set up a paranormal weekend for May 20, 2006. Starr will be posting the details on her website as we get them.

As the hostess of our first annual paranormal event at Blue Licks, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Starr for honoring her commitment to speak at our event. She brought an enthusiasm that was welcomed not only by the humans in attendance, but also by our well known spirits at Blue Licks. We would also like to extend a heart felt “thank you” to members of Starr’s group, Katie McAllister and also Elizabeth and Craig Gorham who assisted us in burning CD’s for everyone in attendance so that we would all be able to share our photos with one another. It was a great weekend and we look forward to sharing many more with Starr and her ghost hunting group. Thank you Starr! - Denita Ross

Starr Chaney gave such an informative and interesting demonstration at The Ghost Trackers Conference in San Diego. Her knowledge of dowsing seemed impressive and her success with using dowsing to obtain EVP is noteworthy. She was helpful with first time dowsers at the ghost hunts and could be responsible for a whole new generation of "ghost" dowsers. - Doreen Clay-Disparti, Gadzooks, Ghosts! - www.gadzooks-ghosts.com

I met Starr at the California Ghost Hunter's Conference. I got some great EVP and my friend some great orb photos, thanks to Starr! Though I had never dowsed before in my life, or tried to get EVP, she was patient and helpful - with both physical technique and spiritual approach. She's patient and thorough with her demonstrations and extra help. I was extremely lucky to be able to learn from Starr! - Karen Zimmerman, Alameda Society for Paranormal Research

"Starr Chaney was both entertaining and amazing at our Spirits of Butler Paranormal Event held at the Butler-Turpin State Historic House at General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton, Kentucky. Starr's knowledge teamed with her relaxed 'matter of fact' delivery will turn skeptics into believers. The audio portion of her presentation sends chills! Starr's professional approach to this interesting topic proves she is the real McCoy." - Evelyn Welch, Historic Site Museum Manager, Butler-Turpin State Historic House.
